BBC One will air Little Britain USA this autumn, it has been confirmed.
The show, which sees David Walliams and Matt Lucas reprise their roles as an array of comedy favourites - including "only gay in the village" Dafydd Thomas, Fatfighters leader Marjorie Dawes, and teenage delinquent Vicky Pollard - was produced by 19 Entertainment for US premium cable channel HBO. It was filmed on location in Wilmington, North Carolina and features cameo appearances from stars including Rosie O'Donnell and Sting.
"Little Britain USA is a show we made for HBO; however, we always had in mind our British audience and hope everyone enjoys the new characters as much as they do the familiar ones," said executive producer Simon Fuller. "Matt Lucas and David Walliams are two of Britain's most talented comedy writers and performers and I am happy to continue Little Britain's special relationship with the BBC.
"I am proud at the same time to introduce them to an American audience. The anticipation for the new shows has been quite remarkable."
The series airs in the US starting on September 28. No airdate has yet been confirmed by the BBC; however, BBC One controller Jay Hunt said: "I am delighted Matt and Dave will be back on BBC One this autumn with a new series. Little Britain USA is brilliantly observed and has some fantastic new characters for the audience to enjoy."
